      Thanks for your assistance. From the link you gave I used FAT32formatter, it appears to have worked. I got some error messages from the program, but it seems to be working ok.

      @herb_fargus Thanks for all your work. Everything was working before I update the script and everything. Maybe you could look into it some times? the USB feature is so great, especially with all the ISOs for the systems.

      Maybe something must have broken the feature. It was working with the plain 4.2 image. (though, I had some issues at the boot up which said that it could not mount my hdd but it still showed all roms and mounted it properly).

      @steptoe

      I use a Seagate 1TB backup drive (was available in Argos for a steal of £50), run through the on-board USB ports and it works perfectly.

      Thanks, I forgot to preface that external hard drives with Laptop sized 2.5" hard drives in them will probably work with the RPi USB ports but Desktop sized 3.5" hard drives will typically not work.

      I've never used the Mayflash adapters but I do read about others having issues with them on this forum. You might search the forums and see what everyone is doing to get it working.

      I've also never used the Buffalo SNES USB controller but I think they work pretty well. Might not have enough buttons for PSX, PSP, Dreamcast and N64 games but those are the systems that are at the very limits of the RPi 3, meaning some games work, some have slow downs and most don't work at all. Out of those 4, you'll probably have the most luck with PSX games.

      I use Xbox 360 controllers (wired & wireless) and they work very well. I've heard the PS3 controllers work well also.

      Can you post commands used to mount external USB HDD. I'm running roms off usb and made folder structure on USB. /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/atari2600/images but retropie doesn't use them. So I assume it must be that I didn't mount it.
